My name is Dan. In 1996, my sister Betsy and I started a project called Turkeys 4 America so that families in need could have a turkey on their Thanksgiving table. I watched a story on the news one night that the Greater Boston Food Bank was short about 5000 turkeys for the upcoming holiday. I felt it was wrong that many families were going to be without a turkey for Thanksgiving. These people, most of them children, have to go to food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to get their food. Betsy and I wanted to help them. We knew that if we put our minds to it, we could make a difference in their lives. This is why we started our company. Please support our effort to get turkeys to everyone who needs one this Thanksgiving. We believe that if people take time out to help those less fortunate than themselves, the world would be a much better place. |
