Feed Ohio 2004
Thanks to the generosity of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, coupled with the partnership of Perdue Farms, Inc., and Turkeys 4 America, over 113,000 servings of turkey was provided to needy families in Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus, Ohio this Thanksgiving. Robert Felt, manager of Lutheran Community Services, contacted Turkeys 4 America Midwest representative Bobby Harvey after seeing Dan and Betsy on the Today Show last Thanksgiving. He wanted to work with Turkeys 4 America to bring relief to families across Ohio. Over the course of 2004, Turkeys 4 America worked with Thrivent Financial to purchase over 55,000 pounds of turkeys from Perdue Farms for Ohio food banks. For places such as Cleveland, Ohio, where one in two children lives below the poverty line, the impact of this donation was incredible. Turkeys 4 America is proud to thank Thrivent Financial and Perdue Farms for making Thanksgiving special for so many in the Ohio area.
